Welcome to the Denver Area Music Teachers' Association!
Our Mission:
- To promote excellence in the teaching of music by offering learning opportunities in pedagogy and the basic knowledge of music;

- To provide opportunity for exchange of ideas and materials;
- To foster fellowship among our members

The Denver Area Music Teachers Association (DAMTA) is a local chapter of the Colorado State Music Teachers Association, affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association.
The next DAMTA event is December 7:
Membership Meeting and Fall Course Presentation: Bach and Scarlatti: two great masters of the Baroque Keyboard Literature
Join us for our final membership meeting of 2016 and the last presentation of our Fall Course. Patricia Parraguez-Chen's presentation will have 2 parts: 1) The importance of teaching Bach's Little Preludes as a transition from the "Notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach" to the more advanced works by J.S. Bach. 2) The keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti: technical challenges, use of creativity, and the joy of teaching an performing these masterworks.

We are gearing up for a new year of innovative pedagogical presentations! If you are a DAMTA member sign up for our Fall Course by clicking here.
