- To foster fellowship among our members

The Denver Area Music Teachers Association (DAMTA) is a local chapter of the Colorado State Music Teachers Association, affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association.
The next DAMTA event is February 8:
Looking into the Improviser's Mind: Thinking Horizontally
Join us for our February membership meeting followed by a program presented by DAMTA member Douglas McLemore. This class will demonstrate how to play musically through chord changes of jazz standards. Being bound by vertical chord thinking can be limiting. Musicality demands playing across the form fluently. Learn how to phrase musically by horizontal harmonization and improvisation.
Specializing in Jazz and piano theory, Doug is currently a piano teacher, lecturer, and professional performer, with extensive professional studio recording experience as player, arranger, orchestrator, conductor and producer.
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Location: 1320 S. Broadway, Denver
