Fall Course Part 2: Nothing More than Feelings: Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words
Join us for our second installment of our fall course, Nothing More than Feelings: Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words presented by Jennifer Hayghe
Mendelssohn's forty-eight "Songs Without Words" are early masterpieces of the character- piece genre, and attained great popularity in the nineteenth century because of their technical and musical accessibility. A survey of the complete collection will be provided, organizing the songs into different difficulty levels, discussing specific technical devices and artistic approaches, and introducing teachers and students to some jewels of the repertoire.
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: 1320 S. Broadway, Denver
